What Is Our Gospel Armor?

Ephesians 6:10-17

In this 6th chapter of Ephesians God tells us exactly what the gospel armor is and what we put it on for.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

We should study God's word and be strong and trust God. Always knowing Father is in control.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wiles is the Greek #3180 and means trickery or deceit. As you will see when we finish reading these verses from Ephesians 6 that the gospel armor is the word of God. We are to study ALL of God's word and arm our minds with it, where by the devil through false teaching, lies etc. cannot deceive us or mislead us. Else we will fall for Satan’s lies instead of making a stand for God's word.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

This battle we are in is not a flesh battle, but one with Satan and his evil spirits that cause so much evil in this world. Satan with his lies and false teachers causes so much spiritual deception and causes even our world leaders to support that which is evil and wrong. Thus why we should all vote to keep God-fearing people in office if at all possible.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

This word withstand is the Greek #436 and means: to stand against, oppose and resist.

There is an evil day coming when the false Christ/ Satan/ antichrist will come claiming he is Christ just before the true Christ returns. Most Christians because of the lack of studying God's word and listening to man's opinions will think the fake is the true Christ and worship him as such. Those who know God's word and that the false comes first shall resist and stand against this one and wait for the true Christ to return at the 7th / last trump. This is what this verse is referring to. We are not to fall for Satan’s lies, nor worship him as Christ when he comes playing Christ, just before Christ returns.

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

God is referring to the loins of our mind girded with God's word / truth. As noted in the verse below from 1Peter.

1Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Knowing God's word and having faith in God and His word is the key to doing spiritual battle with Satan and winning and not being mislead.

This word wicked is the Strong's Greek #4190 and means the wicked one the devil. The way to keep Satan from misleading us is to listen to God's word and check ALL out in God's word to see if we have been lied to or not.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

This tells us that the gospel armor is God's word that we gird our mind with to do spiritual battle with Satan and be able to resist the temptation to worship him as Christ, when he is cast out in the 6th trump to play Christ, as also noted in 2Thessalonians ch. 2. All those who know Satan is the fake Christ and that the fake comes first will not be tempted to worship this fake as Christ, but those who have been mislead and mistaught will think the fake is the true Christ and will fall for his lies and worship him as Christ. Thus why one needs to study God's word and let God's word speak for itself and keep their mind girded with God's word and cast anything that does not align with God's word to the side.
