2Thessalonians 2:1-6

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,

Want to talk to you about Christ return and how we shall gather unto him.

2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

God is telling us here to not let anyone shake our minds up and distract us from what God's word tells us. Paul is saying don't misunderstand what I told you in 1Thessalonians 4.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

In this verse God is telling us that the day of Christ return which is the subject from verses 1-2 above, shall not come EXCEPT the man of sin / Satan/ antichrist be revealed or play Christ as you will see in the following verse.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

This tells us that Satan, the son of perdition, the one who opposeth God shall come playing Christ to deceive all he can that have not studied God's word indepth.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

God's word warns us of this in numerous places.

2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
